DIY: Take Your Brand Online

What comes to mind when you hear “take your business/brand online”? I am guessing creating a website or a social media business page on Instagram, Twitter or Facebook, right? Well, You’re correct. But it is not just limited to these two.

Not everybody “Initially” will have the money to pay a developer to create a store for their businesses or host their stores on other platforms like flutterwave, esty, Paypal etc. Even though you have the money to, it still won’t hurt to have an additional way of driving traffic to your store and the best part is it’s totally free. So how can you take your products and services online using Google and WhatsApp?

I will be showing you easy steps on how to create your personal google card, business google card and lastly a WhatsApp store.

Personal Google Card

Steps on how to create a personal Google card:

1. Login to your Google account using your mobile phone or any device (Google app or chrome preferably).
2. Search for “Add me on search” or “edit my people card” or your name (The same name used for your Google account).
3. Your profile will pop. Click on Get started.
4. Add the necessary details correctly.
5. Click preview, then save the details.

It should look like this when you’re done.

Note: it may take some time for it to fully effect and also this feature is not available for some countries.

Business Card on Google

1. Login to your google account using Google Chrome or Google App
2. Click on myaccount.google.com
3. Go under “Data & personalization” and scroll down to “Business Features”
4. Click on Business Personalization
5. Click on “add your business”
6. Follow the instructions to add your Business Name, Category, Location etc

It should look like this when you’re done.

Creating an online store with WhatsApp (WhatsHash)

WhatsHash has been around for over a year now, I just learnt about it some couple of months back myself and I was really impressed to see what business owners can achieve using the features available on WhatsHash MyBiz Page. WhatsApp works with a Chrome plugin called WhatsHash which contains all the tools you need to create your business page on WhatsApp, efficiently communicate with your business contacts, manage your sales pipeline, build an e-commerce store, and run polls. Nice isn’t it?

Good news is the WhatsHash App is now available on Google store & Apple store. so there will be no need for any steps on how to use it, just follow the instructions on the App and in no time you store should be up and running.

But for those who will still prefer to use the WhatsHash store from the web using their Laptop or Phone, these are the steps to follow;

1. Go to WhatsHash.com
2. Add the WhatsHapp Chrome extension to your browser (Google chrome)
3. Click on Login, then you create an account
4. Go to MyBiz page page to create your online store

You will be required to a add number to WhatsHash, preferably add your Whatsapp number, by adding your WhatsApp number, all orders made are directly sent to your WhatsApp line for quick response. The MyBiz page offers your the option of adding prices, description, images and mode of payment.
